As the number of demos increases, the chaos in their naming grows. The archives on the FTP have standardized names, true, but the demos themselves (.lmp files) are labeled as anyone sees fit. It'd be nice if we all stuck to a single format. Therefore I'm adding a line about demo names to the righthand collumn. It will look like this:wad-nick-seconds.centis. Eg. the actual contest should look like: vilchal-psichotik-37.14

If the demo exceeds one minute, then let's say: vilchal-jarin-1.00.06

There's also an adjustment in point rewarding, starting today. The number of rewarded demos has been increased to 6 per contest. The first place yields 6 pts. now, 5pts for a 2nd place, etc. Let's hope it will increase the interest in recording.

Today marks the offical start of the single player section of Idoom dedicated to contests, competitions or sp-related tasks. There were a few contests done by the end of the year, so me and Draza decided to shelter them under a webpage of sorts. On that part, we got helped by smash (a big thank you).

The first contest will be announced on Sunday January 1, 2009 at 20:00 here on this page, in the right collumn, where you'll also find all the important info and parameters for the demos. The original model is kept, where the contest is split into two parts. In the first part, you have one hour to find the fastest route. The second part then continues during the week and you can optimize the routes and times up to the borders of total insanity. :) Both parts are awarded separately and then included in the Idoom Speed Trophy.
